'A World of My Own' - an online children's exhibition by Museum of Goa

The Museum of Goa is on a mission to find young artists!

"Art plays an essential role in the holistic growth of children. It is through art that they find joy, freedom and fulfilment."

‘A World of My Own’ (AWOMO) is MOG's initiative to encourage and support the creativity in children by creating an exhibition and online world of art by & for kids.

In light of the current situation and with the majority of public schools shut until further notice, children all around the world are finding themselves at home with what we can only hope is ample time to explore & express their inner creativity. An occasion the Museum of Goa is taking as an opportunity to create an interactive art platform that not only encourages children to engage with their monthly prompts but also gives them the forum to share their work with the world.

The works submitted by children from around the world will be showcased on MOG Online Children Exhibition. Thereafter, selected works will be showcased as a part of an exhibition at Museum of Goa.

"Every child is an artist and it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to ensure that they remain artists.

Children scribble and draw in order to communicate their inner world. They expect appreciation and a sympathetic response to their creations. Lack of acknowledgment crushes their creative spirit."

Therefore every month, the Museum of Goa will share a theme across their social media channels for which children are welcome to submit an artwork for public view on their website.

May 2020 Theme:

'If I open the door of my house, where would I go?'

Create your work and fill out MOG's application form to submit it.

*Open to children of 5 to 15 years of age.

The last date to send the entries is 02.06.2020*

The MOG team will then upload the works on the website as a part of the online exhibition.

You can view existing submissions for the month of May right here!

Any & all works submitted for the online exhibition should be kept safely as you just may be selected for MOG's onsite exhibition!

Each participant will naturally receive a participation certificate. In addition, if a young artist's work is selected for MOG's physical exhibition, they will also receive a congratulatory notification by October 30th, 2020.

Good luck & have fun!
